These models represent complex systems that operators face in due to nuanced interactions of individual agents — whether they are people, vehicles, or abstract concepts like economic transactions. Bruno Rizzuto

CEO

Bruno Rizzuto has over 25 years in executive management leveraging from experience in a wide range of industries including but not limited to mining, oil and gas, energy, mass transportation, military and manufacturing. Co-founding his first start-up, Cadre Staffing Inc. (Cadre) in 2004 focusing on executive search and technical recruitment, he built an extensive network in the that has contributed to his success to date.  

For the past 12 years, Bruno has led investments through Cadre in various companies and has become part of the key management team for both Carbon Clean Energy Inc.(CCE) and Stream Systems Ltd. (Stream).  At CCE, Bruno’s contributions led to the creation of Future Energy Park, North America’s largest Carbon Negative Renewable Natural Gas and Ethanol Project alongside its partners Green Impact Partners and PCL. With the sale of the project, CCE retains a significant interest in the project. Construction of the $1.5 billion facility (which has secured all its environmental permits) is expected to commence in 2024 in Calgary, Alberta. Bruno remains a board member of both CCE and Future Energy Park Development Company.

Bruno joined Stream in 2015 as the VP, Corporate Development alongside one of its founding partners Dumitru Cernelev. He became CEO in 2016 and has since led multiple financing rounds including a Series “A” with a major original equipment manufacturer (OEM). Focused on industrial software, Stream’s vision is to utilize a combination of simulated data, data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to aggregate behaviors of complex systems to drive productivity growth with the least amount of energy. Bruno and his team are passionate about providing customers value today on environmental, efficiency, and profitability while moving towards a net-zero future. Educated at Brock University, Bruno holds a Master of Arts (Public Administration) and an Honors Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.

Meet Dumitru Cernelev, the visionary Founder and Chief Innovation Officer behind Stream Systems. With a fervent passion for complex simulation modeling, Dumitru is on a mission to drive innovation, both now and into the future to help businesses optimize their operations and improve their performance. 
At Stream Systems, Dumitru is committed to empowering organizations to achieve their strategic goals by providing companies with the tools and information they need, exactly when they need them. Dumitru's illustrious career includes pivotal roles at Enbridge, Fountain Tire Ltd., and the Government of Alberta, as well as successful leadership in two previous start-ups. Through his entrepreneurial vision and effective leadership, Dumitru has demonstrated a remarkable ability to drive success and create lasting impact.

Greg Lake, P.Eng.

Greg is an accomplished executive whose international career spans manufacturing, mining, oil & gas, consulting and electric utilities.  An advocate for transformational change, he is recognized for his strategic vision and ability to lead and innovate in the technology and operations sectors.

As COO, Greg is dedicated to transforming Stream Systems into a leading Software and Services company, and delivering innovative, breakthrough capabilities to our customers.

With a wealth of experience from his roles at AltaLink, Teck Resources, Husky Energy, Celestica and IBM Canada, Greg is multi-disciplinary, and has led engineering, operations, supply chain, customer account management, information technology, enterprise program delivery and innovation organizations.

Greg holds a B.E.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Western University, and is a Professional Engineer licensed in Alberta and Ontario.

Mark Sawyer

Vice President

Meet Mark, who has worked in the mining industry for over 25 years in operations, planning, technology deployment, technical services, consulting, and project management for operators and with OEMs. Mark has worked in management positions enable him to relate to our mining customers challenges and needs.

Mark lead’s our Mining Services team, supports the product development and R&D teams. Focusing on the customer and execution, he ensures our clients’ needs are met and exceeded by bringing his global experience working on numerous mining technology challenges. Mark leverages his experience to work with mining companies to achieve the most out of their capital deployment, assisting them with operational transformation, catalyzing energy transition, and other strategic objectives.

Outside work, Mark has a passion for empowering youth through sport. Mark has volunteered, fundraised, served on the executive and as President of a Community Hockey Organization.

John Peters

John has a passion for enabling better decision making with actionable information as customers and industry continue with digitization initiatives across the value chain – how do I extract maximum value from the increasing data that is available.

At Stream, John leads the Customer Services group responsible for the successful delivery and implementation of SimOpti with customers as well as delivery of specific projects and pilots with customers. Working directly with the customers John’s team works to understand the their operations including operational drivers, goals, challenges and constraints to allow them to maximize the value from the software and services.

John’s career has included working with both major international Fortune 500 companies as well as small technology and environmental start-ups where he has developed skills in project management, corporate strategy, business development and organizational development. Most recently John worked with Detechtion Technologies in the oil and gas industry with roles including profession services to Senior Vice President of Business Development across 3 different continents.

John holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration from University of Calgary.

Michel Serres

Michel Serres has over 20 years of experience in the mining and mineral processing industries. Michel has worked on several international mining projects in various roles, from project director to sales and global roles related to mining innovation and business or digital transformation.

With a global reach, he has worked year after year to build the digital, connected, autonomous, integrated and carbon-free mining operations of tomorrow.

Michel has a passion for people, he developed during his career several initiatives with local communities.

To support the ambitious objectives of 2030 and 2050 of our industry, alongside his current team, he supports the development of software suites allowing decisions to be made today for the solutions of tomorrow.

He holds a degree in industrial automation and robotics from the Institute of Robotics and AI.

David Noble

VP Product Development

David is an experienced Product Management and Software Development leader with a demonstrated history of creating and delivering innovative products for the industrial IoT and mining technology industries. He has experience in creating and delivering innovative products, with skills in multi-generational product planning, vision creation, and team leadership.

David brings 25 years experience within the mining industry building technology solutions for both underground and surface mining operations, including 20+ years in technical development and product management for fleet management systems (FMS) and autonomous haulage. David has a passion for developing innovative technical solutions and working with talented product delivery teams.

Bringing over a decade of mining technology experience with operators and dealers and working with some of the largest OEMs will help the Stream team design and implement products to support the varying needs. Dedicated to elevating and upholding strong customer relationships, he strives to understand customer and industry challenges to develop innovative solutions to address those opportunities.

Adam’s career includes various roles with Shell, CNRL, and Finning. He has worked in Category Management, Major Projects, Technology, and various leadership roles. Through all these experiences, he has demonstrated the ability to build teams to deliver key business results.
